| Looking for an unusual venture? Talent America offers an remarkable program for people with entrepreneurial spirit to produce talent competitions in your area. Area Directors, State Directors and Scouts all help to produce extraordinary Preliminary talent competitions. Most work is done from home with the help of the national office and their trained personnel. Little or no out of pocket expenses are incurred and work is full or part time. By providing support and information to contestants, State and Area Directors are the heart of Talent America. Work as an State/Area Director includes setting up the competition, placing advertisements, answering the phone, answering questions, mailing to contestants and running the showcase itself. An area could be as large as several states or as small a county. State directors are in charge of one state. State/Area Directors are paid a commission of 40 to 90 percent of the net of the showcase, depending on experience and work done. State/Area Directors may also work with other Directors and Scouts. Scouts provide directors with contestants and receive a commission of 10 percent of the application fee. Little to no set up work is required. Though an appearance at the showcase is encouraged it is not mandatory. Most often scouts are teachers or directors of dance, model or talent agencies and schools. Scouts may place ads with permission from their local directors. | ![]() | ||||||||||||
